Catching Up with Rep. Lucy Dathan

Rep. Dathan, serving New Canaan and Norwalk, recently pointed to the accomplishments of the 2024 legislative session and said she was “proud of what we accomplished by working together on joint bi-partisan issues including education, supporting seniors, and protecting our social safety net.” Continuing, she said, “Over 95% of our legislation is done on a bipartisan basis, and I believe that when we work together we can get great policy passed that benefits all of us.”

Her goal, this session was to ensure the state invested in its priorities while preserving tax cuts for families and seniors. “By passing our fiscal stabilization plan, we protected the largest and second largest tax cuts in state history and ensured more retirement income would be tax-exempt,” she said. “We also filled our priority buckets by increasing funding for higher education, early childhood, mental health, and nonprofits.”

Lucy Dathan took office in the CT House of Representatives in 2019, and will be running for her 4th term in November 2024.
