Meet Jason Bennett, Candidate for State Rep
Democratic delegates from New Canaan and Stamford unanimously endorsed Jason Bennett at an August convention to run as the party’s candidate for state representative of the 125th House District.
“After speaking with people in the district, I decided to run for this office because I want voters to have a choice of candidates and I want to serve the community’s needs via legislation that reflects its views and values,” said Bennett. In the race, he’ll be taking on incumbent Republican Tom O’Dea.
“As a husband, father, and active member of our incredible community, I want to represent our district in Hartford and ensure that it remains an ideal and thriving place to live and work for everyone,” he said. “My experience with running my own business and leading technology at multiple companies has given me the skills to bring people together towards a shared purpose and goals, to solve problems, and to lead by listening and valuing the perspectives of all. I am honored and grateful to have earned such enthusiastic support.”
As New Canaan Democratic Town Committee Chair Christina Fagerstal said: “The New Canaan Democrats are excited to endorse Jason Bennett, technology professional and wonderful father of three young children as our party’s standard bearer in the 125th House District. In this critical election year we are committed to providing voters with a meaningful choice over the future of our community, and we could not be prouder to support Jason.”
Jason Bennett earned his B.S. from the University of New Mexico. He is currently a Fractional CTO and Managing Partner of a technology consultancy firm, and understands the challenges of small businesses. He has also volunteered as a crisis counselor, helping people facing mental health challenges.
Jason and his wife, Sicily, live in New Canaan with their three young children. After living in New York City for many years, the Bennetts chose to settle in Connecticut to raise their family.
