New This Year – Early Voting and a New Primary Date

Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas is encouraging voters to take advantage of early voting, which is different from absentee voting, where it’s offered. Early voting makes it possible for more registered voters to turn out, increasing participation especially in this Presidential election year. You can find more information from Secretary Thomas about early voting HERE.

The date of the CT Presidential Primary is also new this year, due to the approval of a bipartisan proposal to move the vote up by 4 weeks to April 2, 2024. Advancing the primary date is meant to increase CT’s influence in the national political landscape and encourage more candidates to visit our state during the 2024 campaign season.
